Leflore County Board of Supervisors

The Board of Supervisors is the governing body of Leflore County. It consists of five members elected by the people every four years. The Board generally meets three times each month at the Court House.

The Board took up again the matter of the bids for construction of the Justice Center. A presentation was heard from County Court Judge Solomon Osborne. The Board approved various resolutions relating to the new Viking Range Corporation dishwashing plant. Bardin Redditt presented a proposal from the Airport Board to approve the demolition of the old terminal building. A request was heard to close County Road 313. Emergency Management Director T. W. Cooper approached the Board regarding several matters. Various resolutions settling out tax monies to the Cities of Greenwood and Itta Bena and the Schools were approved. The Board approved a number of resolutions to clean up various budget items for the close of the fiscal year on September 30. The Board went into executive session to discuss isses relating to the county landfill.
