Leflore County Board of Supervisors

The Board of Supervisors is the governing body of Leflore County. It consists of five members elected by the people every four years. The Board generally meets three times each month at the Court House.

The Board had a dispute regarding whether to add the matter of state aid engineer to the agenda. Dr. William Ware requested that property owned by his ministry be made exempt from property taxes, and the Board granted that request. Robert Fitzpatrick requested adjustments in salaries for two Juvenile Detention Facility employees. TW Cooper brought several Emergency Management matters before the Board. Tax Assessor Leroy Ware led a discussion of disputed property taxes. A discussion was had concerning budget shortfalls in the Juvenile Detention Facility.
