The Council held its monthly dilapidated housing hearing. Jerry Adams, hospital administrator, gave the Council an update on the Greenwood Leflore Hospital. Several citizens presented a complaint about a homeless shelter proposed for their neighborhood in Ward 6. A dispute erupted regarding the length of the lease for the Recreation Center/Armory, with Council member Ronnie Stevenson asking why it had to be five years in duration. The Council went into Executive Session to discuss an industrial prospect and the investigation of the missing police weapons.
