Greenwood City Council

The Greenwood City Council is the legislative body that governs the city of Greenwood. The executive power is held by a Mayor who is elected by the people every four years, along with the seven council members. The City Council generally meets twice each month at the City Hall.

The Council held its monthly hearing on dilapidated housing. A discussion regarding the upcoming special mayoral election took place. A dispute occurred concerning the necessity of filling the vacancy on the city election commission due to the death of Shelton Allen, the Commission's chairman. Bids for a closed circuit television system for the Police Department were taken up.
