Leflore County Board of Supervisors

The Board of Supervisors is the governing body of Leflore County. It consists of five members elected by the people every four years. The Board generally meets three times each month at the Court House.

The Board approved the 2006 Real and Personal Property Tax Rolls upon which next year's property taxes will be assessed and paid. NCPDD's Mary Howard presented various matters relating to the East Leflore Water and Sewer project. Tax Collector Sara Kenwright brought some tax sales before the Board that needed to be voided. The Board entertained the request by Youth Court Judge Solomon Osborne to employ certain persons under the JAIBG Grant. The Board voted to proceed with plans to transfer the MDCIIC community bank to the management of ECD, Mr. Wolfe casting the lone dissenting vote. An appointment to the Crime Stoppers board was considered. The Board considered going into Executive Session to discuss litigation relating to the county landfill but decided against it.
