Greenwood City Council

The Greenwood City Council is the legislative body that governs the city of Greenwood. The executive power is held by a Mayor who is elected by the people every four years, along with the seven council members. The City Council generally meets twice each month at the City Hall.

The Council heard a presentation from Tommy Gregory relating to a grant application to fund a comprehensive plan for the City. The monthly dilapidated housing hearing was held. A number of property tax exemptions were approved for Viking Range, the Alluvian, and Milwaukee Tools. Rogric Washington's father presented a detailed complaint of police misconduct against his son in an altercation on his grandmother's front yard.
