Leflore County Board of Supervisors

The Board of Supervisors is the governing body of Leflore County. It consists of five members elected by the people every four years. The Board generally meets three times each month at the Court House.

The Board approved the Sanders and Associates bid to update the tax assessment rolls. A discussion took place regarding property owned by Carter Gaston off old Medart Road. An agreement between Sidon and Leflore County was approved to obtain funding. The Board went into Executive Session to discuss personnel and a contract problem relating to the Airport Board. The Board approved the settlement of the lawsuit brought by Larry "Blue" Neal for his last paycheck, which the county had withheld. A discussion took place concerning the Incubator and its shortfall of funds. The Board tabled a request to hire two additional guards for the Juvenile Detention Facility. The Board tabled a request to amend the agreement between the county and ECD relating to the management of the assets of the MDCIIC Community Bank.The Contracts for employment of Joyce Chiles as Board Attorney and Willis Engineering Company as County Engineer were approved.
