Greenwood City Council

The Greenwood City Council is the legislative body that governs the city of Greenwood. The executive power is held by a Mayor who is elected by the people every four years, along with the seven council members. The City Council generally meets twice each month at the City Hall.

The Council held its regular monthly hearing on dilapidated housing and properties. The Council approved a resolution commending the municipal school board. Various maintenance agreements and budget adjustments were approved. Various Civil Service, Code Enforcement, Zoning and Housing Authority Board appointments were approved. The Council voted unanimously to approve the creation of a new taxing authority, the "Rails to Trails" District, with power to levy an additional quarter mill tax on property in the city. Several zoning requests were approved.
