Leflore County Board of Supervisors

The Board of Supervisors is the governing body of Leflore County. It consists of five members elected by the people every four years. The Board generally meets three times each month at the Court House.

The Board rejected objections to the tax roll and approved it as submitted. Ed Hargett delivered the quarterly detention center report. The cost of utilities has driven up the price of housing prisoners, along with lower than expected census. Sheriff Ricky Banks sought and received permission to hire former Itta Bena Police Chief John Washington as a new Deputy to police the town. The Board went into closed session and executive session regarding personnel matters.
