Greenwood City Council

The Greenwood City Council is the legislative body that governs the city of Greenwood. The executive power is held by a Mayor who is elected by the people every four years, along with the seven council members. The City Council generally meets twice each month at the City Hall.

The Council heard a presentation by Vector Disease Control for mosquito spraying services. John Pittman Hey asked the council to rescind its prior order hiring Butler-Snow to defeat the mayoral election contest. Some dilapidated housing matters were continued. A large number of appointments to various boards were approved. Contracts and/or agreements relating to the Rail Spur Park, the old library, C-spire, and the Airport Board were approved. A discussion took place about the feasibility of opening a movie theater.
