Leflore County Board of Supervisors

The Board of Supervisors is the governing body of Leflore County. It consists of five members elected by the people every four years. The Board generally meets three times each month at the Court House.

The Board heard a request from Dr Ilean Richards, the county school district conservator, asking for relief from certain property taxes levied on 16th section land the school owns. The Ashcraft lease problems were also discussed. A discussion was held regarding the need for emergency air ambulance coverage for county workers. Sheriff Ricky Banks asked the Board to go forward with an upgrade to the E-911 system. A lease for space in the county's incubator building was approved. Approval to bury an unclaimed body was granted.
