The Greenwood City Council is the legislative body that governs the city of Greenwood. The executive power is held by a Mayor who is elected by the people every four years, along with the seven council members. The City Council generally meets twice each month at the City Hall.

The Council held a long dilapidated housing hearing. It also heard a complaint from Paulette Byas relating to the city's refusing to allow her to operate a funeral parlor on River Road. A subdivision plat presented by Donnie Brock was approved. The Council went into Executive Session to discuss a new industrial prospect and personnel matters.
