The Greenwood City Council is the legislative body that governs the city of Greenwood. The executive power is held by a Mayor who is elected by the people every four years, along with the seven council members. The City Council generally meets twice each month at the City Hall.

The Council elected David Jordan as President and Tennill Cannon as Vice president. Cinderella Morris was re-appointed as Council clerk. Easter Barr requested and received additional time in which to clean up her building site downtown. Ernest Harris requested assistance with a city easement which interferes with his construction of a concealing fence around his car lot. The Council tabled action on the $3.5 million bond issue until next meeting. Jimmy Henderson's plat for a patio housing subdivision was approved.
