The Greenwood City Council is the legislative body that governs the city of Greenwood. The executive power is held by a Mayor who is elected by the people every four years, along with the seven council members. The City Council generally meets twice each month at the City Hall.

The Council opened bids on the $1.5 million bond issue for street repairs. Later, the bonds were sold to Morgan Keegan which had the lowest bid. Various reports were received, including the Hospital audit. Various zoning matters were taken up. A discussion was held regarding enforcement of the curfew for minors.
