Leflore County Board of Supervisors

The Board of Supervisors is the governing body of Leflore County. It consists of five members elected by the people every four years. The Board generally meets three times each month at the Court House.

The Board heard a presentation from various citizens advocating the placement of a monument to Emmett Till on the lawn of the Court House. The Board tentatively approved the plan. NCPDD's Steve Russell presented resolutions relating to the Viking Range grant. Various recreational lease agreements were adopted by the Board. A discussion concerning the future of the MDCIIC took place. Budget amendments and the state of the county budget were discussed. The Board considered questions relating to the housing of state inmates in the jail facility.
