The Greenwood City Council is the legislative body that governs the city of Greenwood. The executive power is held by a Mayor who is elected by the people every four years, along with the seven council members. The City Council generally meets twice each month at the City Hall.

The regular monthly dilapidated housing meeting was held. The council took up the issue of adding a fee to criminal cases in city court to help fund the Crime Stoppers program. Two special use permits were renewed for the operation of bed and breakfast facilities. The permit request for a bed and breakfast in the Saunders Mansion was rejected due to neighborhood objections. The Council went into executive session to discuss the theft of weapons from the city police vault.
