Leflore County Board of Supervisors

The Board of Supervisors is the governing body of Leflore County. It consists of five members elected by the people every four years. The Board generally meets three times each month at the Court House.

The Board conducted the required "equalization" of the property tax rolls. A hearing was held regarding a new rail crossing in Sidon. The Coleman's land purchase option for property in the Rising Sun Industrial Park for a new corn distribution facility was extended by the Board. Two items relating to the Viking Dishwasher project were approved. Ten year exemptions from ad valorem property taxes were approved for Raybestos and Milwaukee Tool. The matter of the sale of junk/surplus air conditioning units from the Civic Center was discussed.
