The Greenwood City Council is the legislative body that governs the city of Greenwood. The executive power is held by a Mayor who is elected by the people every four years, along with the seven council members. The City Council generally meets twice each month at the City Hall.

The Council voted to advertise for playground equipment for the Broad Street Park. A resolution to continue the city's participation in the Main Street Small Town Program was approved. Several resolutions were adopted approving actions by the Airport Board relating to widening the taxiway and renewing two FAA leases.
