The Greenwood City Council is the legislative body that governs the city of Greenwood. The executive power is held by a Mayor who is elected by the people every four years, along with the seven council members. The City Council generally meets twice each month at the City Hall.

The Council handled some dilapidated housing matters. Some airport and hospital related business was taken up. The Council spent much of the meeting discussing the comment made by Mr. John Lee, Council member from Ward 2. Mr. Lee made a further apology for his conduct in the matter. He was lectured by Mr. David Jordan and many members of the audience.
