The Greenwood City Council is the legislative body that governs the city of Greenwood. The executive power is held by a Mayor who is elected by the people every four years, along with the seven council members. The City Council generally meets twice each month at the City Hall.

The council held its monthly hearing on dilapidated properties. The police chief described an amnesty for people to pay delinquent fines. A discussion took place of the deteriorating speed bumps and plans to replace them. An interlocal agreement was approved with the County relating to road tax revenue sharing. The council went into executive session to discuss legal matters relating to the airport.
