The Greenwood City Council is the legislative body that governs the city of Greenwood. The executive power is held by a Mayor who is elected by the people every four years, along with the seven council members. The City Council generally meets twice each month at the City Hall.

The Council heard an update on the progress of the census. Shelley Johnstone presented her draft "30-year plan" for the city. Fred Clark and others from Greenwood Utilities came to answer questions about concerns in the community relative to the city-owned utility. Dilapidated property matters were also taken up. Several board appointments were approved. Several grant applications were approved.
