Greenwood City Council

The Greenwood City Council is the legislative body that governs the city of Greenwood. The executive power is held by a Mayor who is elected by the people every four years, along with the seven council members. The City Council generally meets twice each month at the City Hall.

The Council heard presentations regarding support for the Chamber's 4th of July celebration and the Cottonlandia Museum. The Council took care of some matters relating to dilapidated properties. The Council approved funding for the celebration and a new contract with the Leflore County Humane Society. A contract to restore the parking lot at Fulton and Washington was approved. The Council authorized the Airport Board to apply for a grant for the Air Traffic Control tower project.
