The Greenwood City Council is the legislative body that governs the city of Greenwood. The executive power is held by a Mayor who is elected by the people every four years, along with the seven council members. The City Council generally meets twice each month at the City Hall.

The Council held its regular monthly hearing on dilapidated properties. The Council considered a $5000 donation to the Greenwood Mentoring Group. Tax exemptions were granted to Milwaukee Tool and Delta Oil Mill. The Council was told of the merger of Killebrew and Moss, its current auditor, with Fred T. Neely and Associates.
