The Greenwood City Council is the legislative body that governs the city of Greenwood. The executive power is held by a Mayor who is elected by the people every four years, along with the seven council members. The City Council generally meets twice each month at the City Hall.

The Council held its regular monthly hearing on dilapidated properties. Mr. Jim Jackson, administrator of the Hospital, presented requests regarding buying and selling some property for hospital use. A donation to "Our House" of $5000 was considered. The Council discussed the proposal to help fund the demolition and reconstruction of the GA Ramp at the airport.
