The Greenwood City Council is the legislative body that governs the city of Greenwood. The executive power is held by a Mayor who is elected by the people every four years, along with the seven council members. The City Council generally meets twice each month at the City Hall.

The Council held its monthly hearing on dilapidated properties. A new wrecker rotation policy for the police department was adopted. The Council authorized the valuation of the hospital property for possible sale. Several historic property renovations were approved. Contracts to permit Contact Network to use the city utility poles and right-of-ways to put up cable were adopted.
