The Greenwood City Council is the legislative body that governs the city of Greenwood. The executive power is held by a Mayor who is elected by the people every four years, along with the seven council members. The City Council generally meets twice each month at the City Hall.

The Council honored the MVSU basketball coaches and teams for their success. Bond Counsel appeared to explain the financial steps needed to fund the public facilities project. The Council considered a resolution regarding the council's clerk's pay and duties. Former city attorney Billy Bowman was hired to help redraw the ward lines due to the 2010 census results.
