The Greenwood City Council is the legislative body that governs the city of Greenwood. The executive power is held by a Mayor who is elected by the people every four years, along with the seven council members. The City Council generally meets twice each month at the City Hall.

The Council held its monthly hearing on dilapidated properties. The matter of the duties and pay for the council clerk was brought up. Eddie Curry was appointed interim Public Works Director. Changes were made to the Sewer System Revenue Refunding Bonds to be issued up to $5,000,000.
