The Greenwood City Council is the legislative body that governs the city of Greenwood. The executive power is held by a Mayor who is elected by the people every four years, along with the seven council members. The City Council generally meets twice each month at the City Hall.

The Council took up the resolution relating to the council clerk's duty and pay. Susan Bailey was approved as Public Works Director. Delegates were elected to represent the city at the Mississippi Municipal League. The Council approved a blues bar and grill located at 601 Main Street. Numerous variances and exceptions were approved allowing improvements and additions to be made to various homes and businesses.
