The Greenwood City Council is the legislative body that governs the city of Greenwood. The executive power is held by a Mayor who is elected by the people every four years, along with the seven council members. The City Council generally meets twice each month at the City Hall.

The Council held its regular monthly hearing on dilapidated properties. Main Street Greenwood appeared to request funding for the arts festival. A donation to the Greenwood Mentoring Group was approved. Connie Johnson was appointed to the Greenwood School Board, with Mr. Jordan voting against the appointment. The Council approved the Hospital purchase of two clinic properties close by the Hospital.
