Leflore County Board of Supervisors

The Board of Supervisors is the governing body of Leflore County. It consists of five members elected by the people every four years. The Board generally meets three times each month at the Court House.

The Board opened various bids for commodities. Brantley Snipes appeared to request the release of the appropriation for Main Street Greenwood, Inc. Abe Hudson appeared again to make his pitch to be hired as a lobbyist for the county. The Board agreed to seek state funds for a Viking Range expansion. Troy Brown appeared with some matters relating to emergency management. A dispute broke out regarding a grant and moving several tornado sirens. The Board went into Executive Session twice to handle this matter. Finally, the Board voted to place Mr. Brown and his department under the County Administrator by a vote of 3-2, with Mr. Collins and Mr. Moore voting against the motion.
