The Greenwood City Council is the legislative body that governs the city of Greenwood. The executive power is held by a Mayor who is elected by the people every four years, along with the seven council members. The City Council generally meets twice each month at the City Hall.

The regular hearing on dilapidated properties was held. GHS coach Bruce Turner requested a donation for the sports program. Several other donations were approved. Thomas Gregory outlined new solid waste regulations, including the creation of a new criminal offense for leaving residential garbage cans in the front of a residence more than 24 hours after pickup.
