The Greenwood City Council is the legislative body that governs the city of Greenwood. The executive power is held by a Mayor who is elected by the people every four years, along with the seven council members. The City Council generally meets twice each month at the City Hall.

The Council heard requests for donations to the MVSU Scholarship Luncheon and the Stars and Stripes celebration. Curtis Flowers was reappointed to the Housing Authority. The Council tabled a resolution to authorize an appeal of the Circuit Court's ruling that the city could not pay lawyers in the Perkins-McAdams election contest.
