The Greenwood City Council is the legislative body that governs the city of Greenwood. The executive power is held by a Mayor who is elected by the people every four years, along with the seven council members. The City Council generally meets twice each month at the City Hall.

The Council authorized a donation of $7500 to the Chamber of Commerce for the Christmas Parade. Several appointments to boards and commissions were approved. A donation of $3000 was made to the Rec Center. Several bids relating to cutting and cleanup of dilapidated properties were accepted. A $5000 reward was approved for information leading to the arrest of the person making bomb threats at Milwaukee Tool.
