The Greenwood City Council is the legislative body that governs the city of Greenwood. The executive power is held by a Mayor who is elected by the people every four years, along with the seven council members. The City Council generally meets twice each month at the City Hall.

The Council held its regular monthly meeting. The Council heard a presentation on combining various historical preservation districts in downtown Greenwood. The Council agreed with the hiring of the Stroudwater firm to do a strategic assessment of the Hospital and to pay one half the cost.
