The Greenwood City Council is the legislative body that governs the city of Greenwood. The executive power is held by a Mayor who is elected by the people every four years, along with the seven council members. The City Council generally meets twice each month at the City Hall.

Several people presented items of interest to the council during the public agenda. A Tree Board appointment was confirmed. The position of Corporal was created in the police department, to assist in advancement of officers to the Sargent's position. The Council went into executive session to discuss an industrial development prospect.
