The Greenwood City Council is the legislative body that governs the city of Greenwood. The executive power is held by a Mayor who is elected by the people every four years, along with the seven council members. The City Council generally meets twice each month at the City Hall.

The Council heard of plans to expand the Milwaukee Tool plant. George Stansberry requested rezoning of a property on Highway 49 South for a liquor store. The regular monthly hearing on dilapidated properties took place. A resolution to place speed bumps in Ward 5 was taken up. The Council went into executive session at the end of the regular meeting.
