The Greenwood City Council is the legislative body that governs the city of Greenwood. The executive power is held by a Mayor who is elected by the people every four years, along with the seven council members. The City Council generally meets twice each month at the City Hall.

The Council listened to a report from the auditor, Lance Mohammed, about the 2018-2019 audit review. A proposal for the city to help fund the "Operation Peace Treaty" events was made. Two citizens appeared to express concern about stray animals. A dilapidated property issue was heard. The Council went into executive session to discuss personnel and Covid pay matters.
