The Greenwood City Council is the legislative body that governs the city of Greenwood. The executive power is held by a Mayor who is elected by the people every four years, along with the seven council members. The City Council generally meets twice each month at the City Hall.

The Council heard from Reginald Moore about the problem of litter in the community. The Council approved a resolution continuing the mask mandate. An emergency purchase of a trailer jetter was approved. The Council declared an emergency at the Claiborne/Poplar pumping station. The council voted to convey the Greenwood Power and Water Building to the Greenwood Utility Commission.
