The Greenwood City Council is the legislative body that governs the city of Greenwood. The executive power is held by a Mayor who is elected by the people every four years, along with the seven council members. The City Council generally meets twice each month at the City Hall.

The Council approved application for a $105,000 DUI grant and a Federal Police Traffic Grant for $32,000.
A tax exemption was granted to Milwaukee Tools.
The Council approved application for a grant for the Boat Landing and Seawall.
Mayor Carolyn McAdams brought up again the need to remove the mask mandate. She stated that the Pizza Inn manager complained that people were refusing to come to eat because they were required to wear a mask upon entering the establishment.
Several council members expressed disagreement, including Andrew Powell and David Jordan.
Ronnie Stevenson stated the mandate will be placed on the study agenda for the next meeting.
Charles McCoy stated that Market Place is not requiring customers to wear masks.
