The Greenwood City Council is the legislative body that governs the city of Greenwood. The executive power is held by a Mayor who is elected by the people every four years, along with the seven council members. The City Council generally meets twice each month at the City Hall.

City Clerk Linda Osbourne and Jody Bradley appeared to discuss the BBI computer program. A donation of $2500 to MVSU was approved, along with another $6000 for MVSU scholarships. The council approved that the city employees be dismissed early on October 21st for the Employee Appreciation Picnic. The council went into executive session to discuss possible annexation with consultant Chris Watson.
