The board held another meeting to finalize the budget and tax levy.
The discussion about the hospital begins at the 1 hour 3 minute timestamp.
On a 3 to 2 vote, the board voted to deny Greenwood Leflore Hospital's request for a $1 million draw from the $10 million loan that the county had obtained to keep GLH alive long enough to find out whether CMS would approve the hospital's application for critical access designation. Hospital officials said that if critical access isn't granted, the hospital will cease operations.
The million dollars was requested to help the hospital meet payroll in September and early October.
