In a very short meeting with no substantive discussion, the council voted to appeal all of the orders by Judge Perkins in the matter of the hospital trustee appointment lawsuit.
In those orders, Judge Perkins refused to recuse himself, and ordered that Greenwood Fire Chief Marcus Banks be removed from serving as a hospital trustee, due to the expiration of his term in June 2023.
Banks was serving as the "joint appointment," and had continued to serve because the city and county have not been able to agree on a person to fill the slot.
