City Council votes to raise its salary

Wednesday, February 20, 2013, 10:35 am News Flash Archive

At yesterday's meeting of the Greenwood City Council, the council voted to raise the salaries paid by the city to council members.

The amount of the salary increase was never announced to the public at the meeting.

The only person to speak against the salary increase was David Jordan, who said that times are too hard to consider a raise at this time. He then went on to vote against the pay increase.

The Taxpayers Channel has been told that Johnny Jennings also voted against the salary increase, but has not been able to confirm that at this time.

Nobody other than David Jordan spoke for or against the salary increase.

All council members were present except for Ward 2 member Lisa Cookston.
