The Greenwood City Council is the legislative body that governs the city of Greenwood. The executive power is held by a Mayor who is elected by the people every four years, along with the seven council members. The City Council generally meets twice each month at the City Hall.

The Council held its monthly hearing on dilapidated housing. Cyreio Hughes presented a request to hold a Summer Fest Family Concert at Whittington Park. The Council accepted over a dozen bids for various goods and services for city use. Several certificates of appropriateness and zoning exceptions were granted. Several resolutions approving Airport Board business were adopted.
