The Greenwood City Council is the legislative body that governs the city of Greenwood. The executive power is held by a Mayor who is elected by the people every four years, along with the seven council members. The City Council generally meets twice each month at the City Hall.

The Council heard a zoning request from Pastor Jim Kelly of the North Park Church. A piece of dilapidated property was addressed. The Council voted to advertise for the purchase of a front line pumper for the Fire Department. The Council approved a grant agreement to finance building improvements for the Milwaukee Tools building. The Council retired to cut the Mayor's birthday cake.
