The Greenwood City Council is the legislative body that governs the city of Greenwood. The executive power is held by a Mayor who is elected by the people every four years, along with the seven council members. The City Council generally meets twice each month at the City Hall.

The Council heard a proposal from Jeff Curtis of the Greenwood-Leflore Hospital regarding the proposed purchase of the old WABG-TV building, but took no action. A proposed cooperation agreement between the city and MVSU was discussed. Robert Rosenthall brought a proposal for a Redevelopment Authority for the city. A bid to re-roof the Milwaukee Tool building was accepted.
