The Greenwood City Council is the legislative body that governs the city of Greenwood. The executive power is held by a Mayor who is elected by the people every four years, along with the seven council members. The City Council generally meets twice each month at the City Hall.

Some dilapidated housing matters were taken up by the Council. Several presentations were made in the public agenda, including a discussion by airport board members and Bardin Redditt regarding the selection of an engineering firm for the control tower project. Some funds to assist the Greenwood Youth Sports Program were approved. The Council approved a tax exemption for Friction LLC's operation in the industrial park. Several matters pertaining to the airport were approved.
