The Greenwood City Council is the legislative body that governs the city of Greenwood. The executive power is held by a Mayor who is elected by the people every four years, along with the seven council members. The City Council generally meets twice each month at the City Hall.

The Council heard presentations relating to emergency management, grant applications, the census, and a proposed wireless plan for the city. The regular dilapidated properties hearing was held. Several grant applications were approved. A tax exemption for Delta Oil Mill was taken up. Three vacant lots were sold.
