The Greenwood City Council is the legislative body that governs the city of Greenwood. The executive power is held by a Mayor who is elected by the people every four years, along with the seven council members. The City Council generally meets twice each month at the City Hall.

The Council authorized two donations to Our House, Inc. and to the Boys and Girls Club. The Airport Board was reauthorized for a short period. The Resolution to re-authorize the tax for the CVB was adopted with amendments expanding the Board to include a representative from MVSU.
