The Greenwood City Council is the legislative body that governs the city of Greenwood. The executive power is held by a Mayor who is elected by the people every four years, along with the seven council members. The City Council generally meets twice each month at the City Hall.

The council approved the appointment of Kim Williams as city clerk. It accepted a bid from Malouf Construction for work on the Milwaukee Tool parking lot improvement project. It approved professional services related to the repairs of the wastewater treatment facility. The council voted to demolish the old Midway Hotel complex on Carrollton Avenue. The council went into Executive Session to discuss a personnel matter.
